The Rio Guesthouse opens its beach front Terrace and two lounge and living areas for a Private New Year’s Eve Party for 100 people. You can enjoy all the festivities and the exciting fireworks at Copacabana beach in privacy and safety, with your family and friends. A dancing area at the terrace and a DJ will make your night really fantastic.

And over a period of 10 years hosting New Year’s eve parties in Rio, our Guesthouse has developed a reputation for unsurpassed gaiety that combines the city’s festive spirit with sumptuous food, wine, champagne, live music with panoramic views of the fireworks.

One of the nice things about New Year’s in Rio is that is never cold in. And this a big advantage when you want to be outside celebrating with your friends and family.

Secondly, Rio de Janeiro has a dual celebration on New Year’s Eve; the traditional ringing in of the New Year, combined with the spiritual celebrations of Candomblé and the manifestation of the Orixa divine mother goddess Iemanjá.

Together, these celebrations provide a peaceful, joyous and colorful backdrop to an annual party that is truly unique.

Over two million people will join in these celebrations on the beachfront of Copacabana. Traditionally, everyone is dressed in white, and people bring to the beach there own gifts of flowers to give thanks to the Orixa Iemanjá. There are at least two free concert areas set up on the beach, with live music played by both local and international artists and DJ’s. Eight barges containing the fireworks for display at midnight are strategically located along the waterfront, for easy viewing and memorable photographs.

The countdown to New Year’s Eve denotes the start of the magic, with a fireworks display lasting 20 minutes, followed by live music concerts that continue through the night.

At the Rio Guesthouse, our New Year package includes 7 nights accommodation. We have our private party on New Year’s Eve on our terrace in front of Copacabana beach. The fireworks can be viewed in comfort & safety and makes for memorable camera moments.
